Your Slovenian heritage is precious to you. When you become a member of the Slovenian National Library, you connect with Slovenians, their children and friends who value Slovenian culture and literature. The Library gives you and your family the chance to learn more about your Slovenian heritage with presentations by Slovenian and American writers, artists and historians who share their knowledge about topics important to you.

The Library's outreach program to Slovenian children engages our youngest generation with activities that highlight Slovenian culture on both sides of the ocean. The Library is networked with Slovenian achievers around the world to bring you the finest experts on all things Slovenian.

As a Slovenian National Library member you enjoy many benefits:

  • Advanced notice of  Library programs with Slovenian writers and artists.
  • VIP meetings with guest speakers, authors and Slovenian experts.
  • Discounts on Slovenian books offered at Library events.
  • Special presentations to member organizations.
  • Children's activities for member organizations.
  • Networking with Slovenian experts around the world.

You enjoyed our Library presentations in the past year. Your support helps maintain the 3,000-volume Slovenian National Library collection, founded in 1906, America's oldest Slovenian cultural organization. The Library is funded for the benefit of the community by fraternal lodges, choruses and societies to serve as a clearinghouse for information on Slovenian culture and literature. Your donations are helping the Library complete the first computerized catalog of its holdings. This will help prepare a Library website for worldwide access to Slovenian resources.

Join now and enjoy the upcoming tributes to the legend of Martin Krpan and Valvasor's "Glory of Carniola," plus a chance to meet Slovenian writer Erica Johnson Debeljak, author of "Forbidden Bread." Look for more fascinating and informative Library events for adults and children in 2010, hosted at Euclid Public Library, St. Mary's Church in Collinwood, and other convenient locations. Become a member today and help keep Slovenian culture an active part of  your life.
